Electrical Testing

As a business, it is important to ensure that your electrics are up to date according to industry standards. this isn’t just for high performance, but also for the safety of your employees, building users and tenants.

The electrical testing and test report (EICR) should entail a detailed list of all the examined circuits connected to the electrical wiring system and should include a list of any defects or deficiencies found. whilst the recorded test results are checked for compliance against current and amended regulations.

The electrical testing can either consist of either a 100% inspection every 5 years or broken down into rolling programs of 20% every year. However, properties covered by licensing laws such as Cinemas and places of Entertainment may require testing on a yearly recurring basis.

At CityServe Electrical we are City & Guilds 2391 qualified for electrical inspection and testing (EICR) and NICEIC/ECA Approved.

Electrical Certification

The Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) has been a driving force in the electrical engineering and building service industry since its formation in 1901. and (ECA) registered electricians and electrical contractors are required to issue electrical testing certification for works they have carried out. these will range from electrical installation completion certificates. minor work certificates, and electrical periodic inspection reports for circuits that have been tested.

Building Regulations

Under Part-P of the Building Regulations, all electrical work in a home, garden, conservatory or outbuilding must meet with current Building Regulations. Apart from some types of minor work, all electrical work must either be reported before being started or be carried out by a registered electrician who will notify the work on completion.
